Job description

Petal is a leading Canadian healthcare orchestration and billing company that revolutionizes healthcare systems to make them agile, efficient, and resilient by enabling the forecasting and shaping of world-class healthcare through Healthcare BI, advanced analytics, and informed insights.

Our commitment to fostering an exceptional workplace culture has earned us notable recognitions, including being listed as a Great Place to Work in both the technology and healthcare sectors. Join us in our mission to empower healthcare innovators and improve healthcare differently.

What to expect when joining the team

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our technical solutions and our customers’ business needs. Acting as a Subject Matter Expert, you’ll work closely with the sales team and prospective customers to identify key challenges and define the most effective technical solutions. Your insights will shape sales strategies and support the creation of tailored product demonstrations that resonate with client objectives.

Your in-depth product knowledge will be essential, as you’ll be responsible for leading demos, developing proof of concepts (PoCs), providing technical consulting, and contributing to RFx responses and proposal development.

A day in the life

In this role, your daily activities will include:

  • Partnering with the sales team to gather and understand customer requirements—technical specifications, business goals, and key challenges;

  • Applying your technical and domain expertise to design tailored solutions that may involve customizing existing products, integrating systems, or developing new capabilities;

  • Delivering compelling product demonstrations that highlight the value and relevance of our solutions to customer needs;

  • Acting as a trusted advisor, building strong and lasting relationships with customers throughout the engagement;

  • Identifying long-term customer objectives and proposing scalable, future-proof solutions aligned with their strategic vision;

  • Collaborating with the sales team to develop strategies and drive new business opportunities;

  • Working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and support teams to refine and improve our platform and solutions;

  • Enhancing and optimizing internal processes to mature the Solutions Engineering function and reduce the sales cycle;

  • Designing and maintaining demo environments and crafting customized PoCs to support key opportunities;

  • Developing and maintaining customer-facing documentation, including Statements of Work (SoWs), RFx responses, and PoC success criteria;

  • Streamlining internal systems (CRM, document repositories, demo environments, deal desk tools) to support various business lines;

  • Participating in bid team reviews and leading the preparation and submission of RFx documents;

  • Collaborating with implementation, training, and product teams to continuously enhance product knowledge and solution quality;

  • Staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape to deliver strategic insights and keep our offerings ahead of the curve.
