What to expect when joining the team

As a Senior Product Owner, you will set the direction of product development in collaboration with other stakeholders, ensuring that business goals and end user demands are met. You will be responsible for prioritizing and helping the team understand the product requirements as a member of an Agile (Scrum) development team. The Senior PO collaborates closely with other stakeholders to ensure alignment with product strategy, vision, and the customer.


You will be a main point-of-contact for everything related to the product, acting as a bridge between the scrum team and the stakeholders. The Senior PO interprets end user needs into user stories and defines the acceptance criteria, grooms the backlog, and communicates priorities to the teams to ensure the highest business value.

Your daily life

During the day, you will be led to:

Product Planning

  • Communicate boundaries to describe the realities within which the vision must be realized (e.g. timelines, user personas, quality);
  • Work closely with the Design team to validate UX mockups, define product functionality and prioritize the product backlog;
  • Communicate the business benefits of each individual feature;
  • Take responsibility for your backlog, from creation to delivery of each user story;
  • Write clear acceptance criteria on user stories;
  • Continuously refine the product backlog (e.g. triaging bugs);
  • Participates in defining and applying the Definition of Done (DoD) on his backlog;
  • Conduct demos of new and upcoming functionality.

Product Development

  • Motivate the team alongside the team’s Scrum Master to execute the product vision;
  • Set release and sprint goals and objectives that help fulfill the vision;
  • Attend and actively participate in scrum meetings such as sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives;
  • Day-to-day support of scrum team members by being available to answer
    questions to add detail to the requirements;
  • Day to day monitoring of key metrics that help in tracking and forecasting progress on features;
  • Collaborate with the technical writing team when delivering new features or fixing major bugs;
  • Collaborate with senior members of the development team to address technical debt issues, build a backlog to address the most important issues and ensure their execution;
  • Complete incident reports and follow up with various teams (Customer Success, R&D, etc.) during major product incidents.

Product Training

  • On a regular basis, provide additional training to key stakeholders (e.g. sales and marketing);
  • Ensure features have been properly documented to allow for self-learning.

Job requirements

Your profile

You are a highly organized PO, believing that great product development is a team sport, and are open-minded and respectful of other opinions? Are you always finding a way to work well with all stakeholders and team members? If you are looking for an opportunity that combines your passion for customer satisfaction, technological innovation, agile methodology and results? The Sky is the limit! If you have :

  • 5+ years of experience as a product owner in a SaaS environment with Agile/Scrum development;
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to balance between an agile mindset and changing business needs;
  • Ability to empathize customer needs and turn it into quantifiable features that deliver business value;
  • Strong track record in partnering with development teams;
  • Strong analytical, technical, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Advanced English and French;
  • Technical background in Programming, QA etc. (asset);
  • Certified Product Owner (CSPO, PSPO I) (asset).
