Patient self-scheduling, clinical capacity management, care coordination, physician scheduling and secure communication, all on our innovative and secure cloud platforms.


What to expect when joining the team
As Director of Solutions Engineering, your responsibilities will span across all cutting edge technology domains including Cloud, AI and Data Analytics. You will act as a pivotal element syncing all Front-End resources (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success) with our Product & Technology teams. 


As a key member of the sales management team, you will thrive in a leadership role that balances solution architecture, business development, people management and creating winning Best Practices with a team of Sales Engineers that you will build to support the company’s hypergrowth.


This position can be based out of Ontario or Québec.


Your daily life

  • Build relationships with customers as a trusted advisor, translating their functional needs into Solution Architecture design supporting their adoption of Petal's cloud-based platform;
  • In partnership with the Sales team, support the achievement of revenue objectives and the expansion and business development strategy into Petal's new geographies;
  • Own key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions that solve our clients problems at scale;
  • Provide presales support for all sales activities including needs analysis, data review, product demonstrations and other general sales support as a player/mentor;
  • Advise our customers on software development best practices and how to leverage Petal's product suite to accelerate innovation while ensuring solutions are designed for successful deployments;
  • Act as a leader in your industry and technology domain, having your finger on the pulse of data trends in the healthtech space and thinking of new use cases;
  • Educate internal and external clients on Petal's value proposition and build a community of certified experts;
  • Contribute to Petal's Marketing efforts, contributing to Customer demonstrations and Content as a means of scaling your knowledge;
  • Ensure tight collaboration and knowledge sharing between Front-End operations and the Product & Technology Groups;
  • Build a team of A players, establish Best Practices in the Sales Engineering function and improve readiness by building a training and certification program.

Your profile

Are you an experienced leader with a background in Solution Architecture and Sales Engineering Management, a Customer focused mindset and a passion for building an environment promoting knowledge sharing and mentorship? Are you recognized for your ability to assess and leverage strengths to maximize team performance? Are you motivated by the unique opportunity to serve a greater purpose in the Healthcare industry through innovative solutions enabled by people, data and technology? The sky is the limit! If you have :

  • A university degree in a related field;
  • 2+ years leading a successful Solution Engineering team (remote/field resources) and 7+ years as a Solution Engineer with a demonstrated track record of success;
  • Deep domain experience working with Enterprise Customers with a preference for Healthcare;
  • A proven history of leveraging and growing existing client base, organic business development, and acquiring new customers;
  • Strong roots in modern technology architecture, knowledgeable of core domains across Cloud, AI, Data Analytics and Digital Transformation;
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to rapidly shifting priorities in a fast paced, multifaceted work environment;
  • The ability to communicate clearly and present to senior executives and tailor messaging for technical audiences;
  • The ability to build an effective knowledge transformation process, building an agile environment capable of supporting growing customer needs;
  • A proven track record in attracting, hiring and retaining a group of A players Sales Engineers;
  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment and learning culture;
  • Full English-French proficiency (an asset).
